The inlaid technique gives these small earrings a smooth, jewel-like surface. Each stone is hand-cut to fit its silver setting and then polished, so the natural colour glows. With lapis lazuli, that colour is a deep blue that may carry golden flecks of pyrite, the stone that Egyptians and Mesopotamians prized thousands of years ago.
