The Intiara rectangular Diaguitas necklace celebrates ancient Andean heritage in a modern semi-collar. We handcraft it in 950 sterling silver with inlaid lapis lazuli, turquoise, jasper and malachite. So it brings deep blue, sky blue, red and green together in one design.
The Diaguita people of the Andes decorated their pottery with bold, symmetrical patterns. Traditionally, many associate these motifs with fertility, unity and harmony between earth and sky. Our engraved and embossed modules therefore echo that sacred geometry.
Our artisans cut and frame each rectangular module in silver by hand. Because the semi-collar follows the neckline, it rests evenly and lies close to the skin. That is why it works for ceremonies and for everyday style alike.
