Two of the earliest Christian emblems meet in our reversible chrismon ichthus charm. One face shows the Chrismon, while the other shows the Ichthus. So you can choose which symbol to wear each day.
The Chrismon joins X (chi) and P (rho), the first two Greek letters of the word Christ. It has stood for Christianity since the time of Constantine the Great. According to tradition, he believed in the prophecy “In Hoc Signo Vinces.” It means “under this sign you will be victorious.”
The Ichthus, or fish, is even older. Early believers also used it as a quiet sign to recognize one another, because its Greek letters spell out a short statement of faith.
We craft the charm in solid 950 sterling silver and inlay it with lapis lazuli and malachite. The deep blue and rich green give each side its own character. The photo shows the Ichthus face. At 0.97 inches in diameter, the piece feels substantial yet easy to wear on a chain or cord.
Because it carries two meaningful symbols, the reversible chrismon ichthus charm makes a thoughtful gift for a baptism, a confirmation or a first communion. It also suits anyone who likes to wear their faith in a discreet, elegant way.
