Modern and bold, this lapis lazuli leather hinge necklace combines fine silverwork with a relaxed, earthy cord. We handcraft the pendant in 950 sterling silver around an extraordinary oval lapis lazuli cabochon.
The cabochon dangles from a cleverly designed hinged frame. So the stone swings freely as you walk, while the frame stays neatly in place. That small movement brings the deep blue to life and catches the light.
Meanwhile, the pendant measures 1.3 inches wide by 2.0 inches long. It then hangs from a triple-stranded leather necklace with a solid silver closure. Because the three strands lie together, the cord looks substantial enough to balance the pendant.
The leather necklace measures 17 inches, but we also offer additional lengths. At the standard length, the pendant rests near the collarbone, which suits open collars and simple tops. For example, wear it with a linen shirt in summer or a fine knit in winter.
