Our premium quality lapis lazuli pigment is the richest grade we offer, with an 80-85% lazurite content. This high concentration of the blue mineral is used to produce deep blue and purple paints and lacquers. It is sold by the kilogram (2.2 lb).
Natural ultramarine made from lapis lazuli was one of the most valued colours of the Renaissance, used by painters for the most precious passages of their work. The more lazurite a pigment contains, the deeper and more intense the colour, which makes this premium grade ideal when depth and saturation matter most.
Choose it for fine art painting, restoration work or luxurious lacquer finishes where you want an authentic, intense blue with hints of purple. Mix it with your preferred binder, and compare it with our standard and superior grades to understand the full range of tones lapis lazuli can produce.
