Our dainty lapis lazuli dragonfly pendant has an inlaid Lapis Lazuli body with nacre (mother-of-pearl) wings and eyes, all set in sterling silver with a solid silver back.
The contrast is lovely: deep blue stone, flecked with golden pyrite, against the soft iridescence of nacre. Lapis Lazuli World artisans in Chile cut and fit each piece by hand to create the slender body and delicate wings. Lapis lazuli has been treasured since antiquity, carved by Egyptian and Mesopotamian craftsmen and ground into ultramarine by Renaissance painters.
