Our lapis lazuli unity necklace takes its inspiration from a piece in a Peruvian museum. We handcraft it in 950 sterling silver and inlay it with grade AAA lapis lazuli.
The design shows two dangling circles hanging from the sun. In many Andean traditions, the sun stood at the center of life. So the two circles beneath it can represent two people joined under one light, or two lives held together.
We cut each piece of lapis by hand and fit it into the silver. Then we polish the surface smooth, so the deep blue looks even and bright. Because we use grade AAA stone, the color stays rich and intense.
The sizable pendant measures 1.0 inch wide by 2.8 inches long. Its long, vertical shape flatters the neckline, which makes it look graceful with a V-neck or an open collar. It comes on a fine sterling silver chain that measures 17 inches, and additional chain lengths are available.
The lapis lazuli unity necklace makes a meaningful gift for a wedding, an anniversary or a reunion. It also suits anyone drawn to ancient art. Finally, other stones are available if you prefer a different color.
All our lapis lazuli is of exceptional grade and completely natural. We are one of the few jewelers who never use synthetic stones and never dye our lapis to mask poor quality – practices that are all too common, as much of the lapis lazuli sold today is dyed, reconstituted or imitation stone.
