Tall, sculptural and luminous by candlelight, this square lapis lazuli candle holder features a solid lapis lazuli column with silver plated metal details. It is an extremely beautiful accent for a dining table, mantel or sideboard.
The square column shows off the natural character of the stone: deep blue tones, subtle veining and the glint of golden pyrite that has made lapis lazuli a treasure since antiquity. Ancient Egyptians and Mesopotamians reserved it for royalty and temples, and Renaissance painters ground it into ultramarine pigment. Paired with gleaming silver plated fittings, the piece has a classic, formal elegance.
Light a taper for a dinner party or a quiet evening at home and watch the stone glow. It is available as a single candle holder or as a pair, and makes a memorable wedding, housewarming or anniversary gift that will be displayed for years.
All our lapis lazuli is of exceptional grade and completely natural. We are one of the few jewelers who never use synthetic stones and never dye our lapis to mask poor quality – practices that are all too common, as much of the lapis lazuli sold today is dyed, reconstituted or imitation stone. That is our difference.
